If you have a pet, you’ll understand how they become like family to you. Sunday, August 26 is National Dog Day and it’s a great day to show your pet how much they mean to you by pampering them! You can also take advantage of our apartment community rooftop deck with a pet relief area to enjoy the beautiful summer weather here in Tucson, AZ. In this week’s One West Broadway Blog, we’ve got a few suggestions for you on how you can celebrate National Dog Day!
Give them a Bath
If you want to treat your dog (and yourself), you can check out Bark Avenue Dog Wash or give your dog a bath yourself! Washing your pet is sometimes a difficult task, but there are ways to make it a little easier. Make sure the water is warm before bringing your dog in for a bath and choose a shampoo that won’t make them scratch themselves or dry out their skin. If you’re unsure which shampoo to use, ask your veterinarian!
Take them to a Dog Park
Living in an apartment is difficult for a dog! Do them a favor and take them to a dog park so they can interact with other dogs! Before heading there we recommend exercising your dog, even though people think the reason they take their dog to the dog park is to get exercise. The reason we recommend exercising your dog beforehand is to make sure their energy levels are lower so they can more effectively interact with other dogs. A high energy dog can clash with other high energy dogs and cause issues!
Make them some Treats
We often make treats for our friends when we’re celebrating their special days, so why shouldn’t we do the same for our furry friends? Check our Puppy Leaks’ 25 simple dog treat recipes if you’re looking for a way to pamper your puppy!
